What do people think are the major issues in politics today?

At politicalwriting.net I am wondering what people believe are the world's most pressing political and social issues. Here are a few that i can think of
The war in Iraq persists even though the global public has lost what little faith it had in the motives for the war. They have grown sick and tired of hearing about nothing but senseless suicide attacks and believe it is time for foreign forces to leave the country.
Does terrorism pose a real threat to world order?
Does Iran pose a nuclear threat to the all mighty American world order - or is Bush's anti Iranian dialogue all a big fear campaign?
Will the United States have an African American President? Or even a female President?
Will Africa ever be free from civil conflicts bought about by tribal divisions and the continents colonial legacy?
Is there hope for the 1.1B people across the world forced to endure poverty?
Will the world's governments take a firm stand on climate change? Or maybe, the world's governments have already taken a firm stand on climate change?
What's the way forward beyond fossil fuels?
The world is full of pressing issues, many of which are inherently linked together with one another. politicalwriting.com will aim to have daily posts discussing these issues and many more to get people thinking about issues that make and shape the world we live in.

It's interesting though, because it doesn’t seem like climate change is a HUGE election issue over in the States! I'm sure it gets a mention, but I tend to hear more talk about the recession in coming and Iraq.
